Course Title: PRINCIPLES OF DESTINY (Lecture 15)
The kind of planning we have examined is the work of lesser managers. When we look at planning from top management level, they decide the vision and the mission of the organization.
"And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
"Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make of it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breath of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
"A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubits shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
"And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
"But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
"Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
"And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he." Gen.6:13-22.
This was the revelation given to Noah by God. A visioner is a leader. He knows the mind of God and what the Almighty wants him to do. A leader may not be a manager. The latter manages the resources while the former manages vision.
What makes a person a leader is the vision. The ability to deliver that vision is leadership. When you look into the life of Moses, you will discover what leadership is all about.
"And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him. And Moses and Aaron went and gather together all the elders of the children of Israel." Ex.4:28-29.
The first leadership quality apart from the vision is communication. You must be able to communicate the vision to other people in a convincing manner. When you critically look at the vision, you will discover that it is the mental picture of the future state.
A leader sees what others do not see. He can see the end from the beginning. He knows his destination, where he is going. The end is what is called destiny. If you have a vision from the Lord, you have a destiny.
If you don't have a vision, you don't have a destiny. However, everybody should have a destiny because God has a purpose for everyone. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jer.29:11.
If you don't have a vision, it is because you have not found out what is the purpose of God for your life. You have one. Everything God created is for a purpose. Even the wicked people have purpose in God's plan. "The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil." Prov.16:4.
That tells you straight away that there are two kinds of destiny. There are good destinies which are meant to produce good works. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Eph.2:10.
There are also evil destinies which are for evil works. "The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea even the wicked for the day of evil." Prov.16:4. People with evil destinies can change it by surrendering their lives to Christ.
